Announcing GUN - Gun Identification Software
It's here! At long last you can view, research and catalog any firearm.
Look up serial numbers for dates, track your inventory, or just look at
beautiful full screen pictures of your favorite guns.
GUN is an interconnected series of databases, documents, pictures, and
utilities that make firearm identification easy. The simple command bar
structure is a "gas and brakes" operation - simply press enter on the
subject desired, then escape to select another option. Whether you are
dealer, collector, or civilian, this is the software for any gun admirer.
All pictures in this product were taken with an analog camera, then
digitized. Only U.S. Patents have been generated by scanner technology.
It is now feasible to catalog inventory and distribute a catalog on floppy
disk. Pictures for a customer ? Send them a .GIF file over the phone for
not much more than a fax - in full color. Take your own pictures, build
the ultimate gun database, or publish a real-time gun valuation.
FEATURES
@ A comprehensive database of firearms - add, delete, or modify as
desired. Over 6000 entries and 18 database functions, including
picture viewing directly from the database or from the viewer.
The demo version has approximately 300 entries.
@ Inventory database to track and print reports of purchases or sales
of current and historical inventory.
@ Gun Dealers and Manufacturers databases.
@ Gun serial number look-up. Input a serial number and get back the year
of manufacture. The user can update data as desired, even "toggle" on
the edit mode as part of the lookup function. Only Luger, Parker and
Smith & Wesson are active for the demo.
@ A sample of U.S. Patents. (Not available in demo)
@ User defined databases - i.e. customer wish lists, or stolen firearms.
@ Access various texts such as firearms legislation (i.e. the Brady Bill),
various gun organizations, gun recalls, and of course, complete manuals
covering all facets of the program(s). This is in addition to extensive
"on-line" help.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
GUN requires DOS 3.3 (or higher), a VGA display (640x480), and at least 2
